That’s why, in addition to the CD, a booklet is also available containing all the lyrics and background stories for the fifteen tracks on Chante la vie. A download code is included. Tess Merlot: “When you know the story behind a song, or the circumstances in which it was written, the music often resonates even more. Of course, it’s great if you can understand the lyrics, but truly understanding them is even more important. That way, as a listener, you can much more easily give it your own meaning. Telling the background story of my chansons is an indispensable and characteristic part of my live shows; with this booklet, I hope to be able to bring that to people at home as well.”
